Why can’t I find a user in a target‑based list (widget, slide, or report)?

If a user doesn’t have a target on the metric and period you’re viewing, they will not appear in target‑based widgets/slides even if they have logged reports; add a target for that metric/period and they will show up.

Prerequisites / who this applies to

  • Targets are enabled for the metric you’re using

  • You can access Reports/Data and Manage → Targets

Step‑by‑step: Diagnose and fix a missing user

Step 1 – Confirm the user is missing from the target view

You’re looking at something like a Target Progression widget/slide and can’t find a specific user (for example Erin) in the list.

If a user is missing here, it usually means they don’t have a target set for this metric + period.

Step 2 – Confirm the user has reports on this metric

  1. Go to Data (or Reports, depending on your setup).

  2. Filter by:

    • The correct Activity type / metric

    • The relevant Period

    • The User (e.g. Erin)

  3. Check that the user actually has reports.

If they do, reporting is not the problem – it’s almost always a missing target.

Step 3 – Check if the user has a target

  1. Go to Manage → Targets.

  2. Stay on the User tab (or drill down to user level if you have multiple levels).

  3. Filter by:

    • Period (e.g. May 2025)

    • Team

    • Type (for example 1. Sales KPI).

  4. Find the user in the list.

    • If Value / Quantity / Provision is 0 or empty for that metric/period, they effectively have no target.

Step 4 – Add a target for the user

  1. On the Targets page, click Add targets.

  2. Select:

    • Period (e.g. May 2025)

    • User (e.g. Erin Adams)

    • Type (e.g. 1. Sales KPI)

    • Activity (or leave as All if the target is for the whole metric)

  3. Enter the target in the correct field:

    • Value – if your metric/widget uses value

    • Quantity – if it uses quantity

    • Provision – if it uses provision

Make sure you use the same field that the metric and widget are configured to use.

  4. Click Add targets to save.

Once the target is saved, the user now has a non‑zero target for that metric and period.

What happens next?

  • The user will start appearing in:

    • Target Progression widgets

    • Target‑based slides

    • Other target‑driven reports for that metric and period

  • Their progress will be calculated based on reports vs target going forward.

What if this doesn’t work?

The user still doesn’t appear after I add a target

  • Double‑check that:

    • You set the target on the same metric/type the widget uses.

    • You used the correct field (Value vs Quantity vs Provision).

    • The widget/slide is filtered to the same period and team as the target.

  • Refresh the widget or slide; in some cases it may take a short time to update.

I can’t find the user in the Targets overview

  • Make sure the user is active in SalesScreen and belongs to the team you’re filtering on.

  • Clear some filters (team, period, type) and search again.

I don’t see Manage → Targets

  • You may not have the right access. Ask a Company Admin to grant you permission or to add the target on your behalf.
