How do I set targets for myself and others in SalesScreen?

Set or update targets from your profile or from Manage → Targets, and use bulk‑edit or Excel upload when you need to adjust many users, teams, departments, or company targets at once.

Role

  • End user / Manager – to set your own targets (if your company has enabled this)

  • Admin / Manager – to set targets for others

Plan
All plans

Prerequisites / who this applies to

  • Targets are enabled for your company, and self‑service targets are allowed for users

  • The metric you want to target is already configured and ready to receive targets

Option 1 – Set a target from your own profile (recommended for “my target”)

Use this when you want to set or adjust only your own target.

  1. Open your profile in SalesScreen.

  2. In the Targets section, you’ll see all metrics where you already have targets (if any).

  3. To add or change a target:

    • Click the plus (+) icon and choose Set target, or

    • Click the current target value (or an empty field).

  4. Enter the target value you want for that metric and period.

  5. Click Save.

Your personal target for that metric is now updated.

Note: This option is only available for accounts where “Set my own targets” has been enabled in the settings. If you don’t see it in your account, please contact SalesScreen Support and we’ll help you activate it.

Option 2 – Set targets from the Targets overview (for yourself or others)

Use this when you need more control, or when you’re an Admin/Manager setting targets for several people or levels.

  1. Go to Manage → Targets.

  2. In the Targets overview, find the metric and period you want to work with.

  3. Click the target value you want to edit.

What you see next depends on how Target settings are configured:

  • Only user targets configured

    • You’ll see a list of users you have access to.

    • Find yourself (or the user you’re updating) and edit the target value directly.

  • Multiple levels configured (company → department → team → user)

    • You first see the highest level (for example company). Click the number to change the value there.

    • To drill down:

      • Click the name of the company → department → team → user you want to open.

      • Edit the target values for that level.

Click Save when you’re done.

Option 3 – Set many targets at once via Excel (Admins/Managers)

If you are an Admin/Manager and want to update many targets in bulk, you can upload them from Excel.

  1. Go to Manage → Targets.

  2. Find the key metric you want to update.

  3. Click the three dots (⋯) next to that metric and select Upload from Excel.

  4. Choose:

    • The timeframe you want to upload targets for.

    • The level you want to set targets on (company, department, team, user).

  5. Download the Excel template.

  6. Fill out the template with the target values.

  7. Upload the completed file.

The system applies the targets according to the levels and periods you specified.

Bulk‑edit options without Excel (Admins/Managers)

Bulk edit several users

  1. In Targets overview, click Bulk edit targets.

  2. Enter the target value.

  3. Select the periods where this target should apply.

  4. Confirm / save.

Bulk edit one user/team/department/company

  1. Find the relevant user / team / department / company.

  2. Click the three dots (⋯) next to its name.

  3. Choose Set [user/team/department/company] target.

  4. Enter the target value and periods.

  5. Confirm / save.

What if this doesn’t work?

I don’t see any option to set my own target

  • Your company may have disabled self‑service targets. Ask a Company Admin if users are allowed to set their own targets for this metric.

The metric I want isn’t available

  • The metric may not be configured as a key metric with targets. Ask an Admin to check Target settings for that metric.

My changes in Excel upload don’t appear

  • Make sure you used the latest template, filled in the correct periods and IDs, and uploaded to the right metric and timeframe. Fix any rows marked as errors and re‑upload if needed.
