How do I set targets for users, teams, departments, and company in SalesScreen?

You set targets from user profiles or the Targets overview, and for larger changes you can bulk edit or upload targets from Excel.

Role
Admins and Managers

  • Admins: can set targets on all levels (company / department / team / user)

  • Managers: can set targets for their own team(s) and themselves

Prerequisites

  • The metric is configured and ready to receive targets (see your Key Metric / Target settings guide)

  • You have Admin access, or Manager access for at least one team

Ways to set targets

You can set or update targets in three main ways:

  1. From a user profile

  2. From the Targets overview

  3. From the Targets overview via Excel upload

There are also two bulk‑edit options directly in the UI.

1. Set targets from a user profile

Use this when you want to update targets for a single user.

  1. Go to the user’s profile.

  2. In the targets section, you see all metrics where the user already has targets.

  3. To add or change a target:

    • Click the plus icon and choose Set target, or

    • Click the current target value (or an empty field).

  4. Enter the new target value.

  5. Click Save.

2. Set targets from the Targets overview

Use this when you want to see and edit multiple targets at once.

  1. Go to Targets (main menu).

  2. You’ll see the Targets overview for all metrics you have access to.

  3. Click the target value you want to edit.

What you see next depends on your Target settings:

  • Only user targets configured

    • You’ll see a list of users you have access to. Edit the numbers directly.

  • Multiple levels configured (e.g. company → department → team → user)

    • You first see the highest level. Click the number to change the value at that level.

    • To drill down to a lower level, click the name of the company / department / team you want to open, then edit the targets there.

Save when you’re done.

3. Set targets via Excel upload (bulk from Targets overview)

Use this when you want to set or update many targets at once.

  1. Go to Targets.

  2. Find the key metric you want to update.

  3. Click the three dots (⋯) next to that metric.

  4. Select Upload from Excel.

  5. Choose:

    • The timeframe you want to upload targets for.

    • The level you want to set targets on (company, department, team, user).

  6. Download the Excel template.

  7. Fill out the template with the targets you want.

  8. Upload the completed file.

The system applies the targets according to the levels and periods you specified.

Bulk edits (without Excel)

Bulk edit several users

  1. In Targets overview, click Bulk edit targets.

  2. Enter the target value you want to apply.

  3. Select the periods where this target should apply.

  4. Confirm / save your changes.

Bulk edit for a single user / team / department / company

  1. Find the relevant user, team, department or company.

  2. Click the three dots (⋯) next to its name.

  3. Choose Set [user/team/department/company] target.

  4. Enter the target value.

  5. Select the periods where the target should apply.

  6. Confirm / save your changes.

What if this doesn’t work?

I can’t see the Targets page or a metric I expect
Targets may not be enabled for that metric or your role. Ask a Company Admin to check Target settings and verify your permissions.

I don’t see Excel upload or Bulk edit
Only Admins and certain Managers can use these features. Confirm your role and that you’re working on a key metric that supports targets.

My Excel upload fails or targets don’t update correctly
Use the latest template from the Upload from Excel dialog and do not change column headers. Ensure emails/IDs and periods match existing users and time periods.
