How to Log an Activity

Learn how to manually log an activity in SalesScreen — and why it matters for your leaderboard, coins, and celebrations.

Logging an activity is the core action in SalesScreen. Every time you record a win — whatever that looks like in your role — it feeds your leaderboard, earns you coins, triggers your personal celebration video, and contributes to competitions and missions you're part of.

Does my data sync automatically?

Many companies connect SalesScreen to their CRM (like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Dynamics). If your company has this set up, your activity data may already be flowing in automatically — you don't need to do anything.

To check: click Dashboard in the left menu and see if your numbers are already coming in. If they are, your CRM sync is working and manual logging may only be needed occasionally.

If your numbers are empty or you need to log something outside your CRM, follow the steps below.

How to log an activity manually

  1. Click the green + New button at the top of the left sidebar.

  2. Select Report from the dropdown menu. (Some accounts may label this differently, such as "Log Activity" — it will be the option for recording performance data.)

  3. Choose the activity type you want to log. The available types are set up by your admin and reflect the specific metrics your company tracks.

  4. Enter the quantity or value for that activity.

  5. Click Submit.

What happens after you submit

As soon as you log an activity:

  • Your leaderboard position updates in real time.

  • You earn any coins tied to that activity type.

  • Your personal celebration video plays on the feed for the whole team to see (if you've set one up).

  • Progress towards any active competitions, battles, or missions you're part of is updated.

What activity types are available?

The activity types in your account are configured by your admin — they're specific to your company and what you track. You might see things like sales metrics, calls, meetings, deals, or anything else relevant to your role.

If you're unsure which activity type to use for something, or if you think something is missing, check with your manager or SalesScreen admin.

Tips

  • Log as you go — activities logged in real time trigger celebrations that the team can react to. Batch logging later misses that moment.

  • Check your Dashboard after logging to confirm the numbers came through correctly.

  • Set up your celebration video first (see Get Started with SalesScreen) — so your wins come with a soundtrack.
