There are two main steps in the process:
Preparing your metrics settings for targets
Set the metrics manually or import the metrics. A guide here:
Set the targets
1. Prepare your metrics for targets
Before you can start setting targets, you need to configure your key metrics.
You configure target settings individually for each metric. Target settings can be accessed in two places:
1: From the Settings page for a specific key metric in the Organization page
2: From the Target Overview page, using the button in the top-right corner
1:
2:
Who can access target settings?
Only admins or managers who have permissions for the relevant level can change target settings.
3. Target settings explained
Enable targets for a key metric
First, choose whether this key metric should have a target.
When you toggle this on, additional configuration options will appear:
Period
Period: Select the time period you want to use for targets on this metric (for example: weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly).
If you change the period, existing targets will be converted to the new period where possible.
Review your targets after changing the period to make sure everything still looks correct.
Level & Rollup
Choose the level(s) at which you want to set targets (for example: user, team, department, Company).
If you toggle on All levels, you will be expected to set targets for each of those levels.
If you do not enable a higher level, its target will be calculated as a rollup of the level below.
Example:
If you enable targets at user level but not at team level, the team target will be the sum (rollup) of all user targets in that team.
Automation & default targets
These settings help you avoid gaps and manual work when new users are added or when new periods start.
Default target for new users
“What should be the target for new users?”
Use this to automatically assign a default target value to any newly added user, so they don’t start with a target of 0 unless that’s intentional.
Auto-copy targets
When this is toggled on, the system will automatically copy the target from the previous period into the new period, but only if no target has been set yet for that new period.
This helps you keep targets consistent over time without having to re-enter them each period.
4. Don’t forget to save
After adjusting your settings, make sure to save your changes.
Once saved, you can proceed to set or adjust the actual targets according to the configuration you’ve just defined.
