How do I create a Lottery competition in SalesScreen?

You create a Lottery competition by going to Competitions → + Create new, selecting Lottery, choosing who competes and which activity earns tickets, setting prizes, and publishing — then you spin the wheel to draw a winner when it ends.

Written by Emil Lindblom

Role
Company Admin or Competition Admin (anyone with permission to create and manage competitions)

Plan
Pro and Enterprise (Lottery is one of the advanced competition types; Essentials and Scale include Standard competitions only)

Prerequisites
Available on: Pro & Enterprise. Access required: Company Admin or Competition Admin.

Quick overview

  • A Lottery rewards activity with tickets instead of leaderboard position.

  • Every qualifying report earns a ticket, and more tickets means a higher chance to win.

  • Anyone with at least one ticket can win when you spin the wheel.

  • Best used to keep mid and low performers engaged, since everyone with a ticket has a chance.

Step 1 – Choose who is competing

  1. Select Users, Teams, Departments, or Custom Teams.

  2. Select the specific participants.

Step 2 – Choose what to compete on

  1. Choose Single metric for one activity (for example Meetings booked or Calls).

  2. Or choose Multiple metrics (Points) if different activities should be worth different numbers of tickets.

  3. Click Select Metric to pick the metric and adjust filters if needed.

Step 3 – Set the dates

  1. Set the start and end date/time.

  2. Or use the shortcuts Today, This week, or This month.

Step 4 – Decide if users can win multiple prizes

  1. Choose Yes or No under Can users obtain multiple prizes?

  2. Recommended: No, so more people come away as winners and stay motivated for the next competition.

Step 5 – Choose prizes and winners

  1. Click Select prizes.

  2. Assign rewards (coins, Reward Shop items, or a custom prize).

Step 6 – Review advanced options

  1. Click Set advanced options.

  2. Adjust settings such as privacy and tie-break rules.

Step 7 – Add a title, description and theme

  1. On the right, add a Title (required).

  2. Add an optional Description.

  3. Pick a visual theme for screens (for example Studio).

Step 8 – Save or publish

  1. Click Save as draft to finish later, or Save and publish to launch.

  2. When publishing, add the competition to screens and feeds.

  3. Enable start / halfway / completed notifications for maximum effect.

How do I draw the winner?

  1. When the competition ends, find the Spin button next to the wheel on the competition.

  2. Click Spin to draw the winner.

  3. Tip: run the spin live in a team meeting or on the office screen to create a shared moment.

Pro tips

  • Best on leading indicators. Lottery works best on activities like calls, meetings or demos, rather than lagging outcomes like revenue, so the odds don't feel skewed toward top sellers.

  • Pair with an outcome. Running a call blitz? Add a Lottery on meetings booked so reps focus on quality, not just volume.

  • Keep eliminated players engaged. In a longer Bracket competition, add eliminated reps into a parallel Lottery so they still have something to play for.

What if this doesn't work?

I don't see Lottery as an option
Lottery is an advanced competition type available on Pro and Enterprise. If you're on Essentials or Scale, you'll only see Standard competitions. Contact your Account Owner to discuss plan options.

The Spin button doesn't appear
The wheel can only be spun after the competition has ended. Check that the end date/time has passed and that the competition is published (not still in draft).

A participant didn't earn any tickets
Confirm the participant is included in Step 1, and that their reports match the metric and filters selected in Step 2. Reports that don't match the metric won't generate tickets.
