What is a Coin Budget?
A Coin Budget is a separate pool of coins assigned to an admin, manager, or budget admin.
It is used to fund recognition and gamification activities, such as:
Competitions with coins as prizes
Endorsements with coins
Team motivation campaigns
Recognition for strong performance, effort, or team behavior
A Coin Budget is not the same as your personal coin balance.
Coin Budget vs personal coin balance
Personal coin balance
Your personal coin balance is made up of coins you have earned yourself. These coins can come from activities, achievements, competitions, battles, missions, endorsements, or coins assigned directly to you.
You can spend your personal coins in the Reward Shop.
Coin Budget
A Coin Budget is assigned to an admin, manager, or budget admin. These coins are used to give coins to others or fund team activities.
You do not earn Coin Budget coins for yourself, and you cannot use them as personal spending money in the Reward Shop.
Who can use Coin Budgets?
Coin Budgets are mainly used by:
Account Owners
Company Admins
Rewards Admins
Coins Admins
Budget Admins
Managers
Managers or budget admins may receive a Coin Budget that they can use for their own team.
If you think you should have access to a Coin Budget but cannot see one, ask your SalesScreen admin to check your role, permissions, and budget setup.
What can I use a Coin Budget for?
Depending on your company’s setup, a Coin Budget can be used to:
Fund competitions with coin prizes
Give coins to users or teams
Support team motivation campaigns
Recognize performance, effort, or team behavior
Your available options depend on your role, permissions, and how your company has configured Rewards and Coins.
Can I use my Coin Budget in the Reward Shop?
No.
The Reward Shop uses your personal coin balance. These are coins you have earned yourself.
A Coin Budget is used to give coins to others or fund recognition activities. It is not meant to be spent on personal rewards.
Can I use my personal coins as a budget?
Usually, personal coins and Coin Budgets are treated separately.
Personal coins are for your own Reward Shop redemptions.
Coin Budget is for recognition and team activities, such as competitions and endorsements.
Some actions may allow you to choose whether coins come from your personal balance or from a budget. If you are unsure which balance is being used, ask your admin to check your company’s Coins and Rewards setup.
Where can I see my Coin Budget?
If you have access to a Coin Budget, it appears in the relevant Rewards, Endorsement, or Competition flow where budget coins can be used.
Your personal coin balance is shown separately. To review your personal coin history, go to:
Rewards → Earnings
If you cannot see your Coin Budget, ask your admin to check:
Whether you have been assigned a Coin Budget
Whether you have the correct role or permissions
Whether Rewards and Coins are enabled
Whether Coin Budgets are enabled for the feature you are trying to use
How do I get more budget?
Coin Budgets are usually assigned by an Account Owner, Company Admin, Rewards Admin, or Coins Admin.
If you need more budget, contact the person who manages Rewards and Coins in your company and ask them to check:
Your current Coin Budget
How much budget you have left
Whether your role allows you to use budget coins
Whether additional coins can be assigned to your budget
Is a Coin Budget the same as a target?
No.
A Coin Budget is about coins available for recognition, competitions, endorsements, and team motivation.
A target is a planned value for a KPI, activity metric, sales metric, revenue metric, or performance goal.
Examples:
“How much budget do I have for competition prizes?” = Coin Budget
“Can I add coins to an endorsement?” = Coin Budget
“Why don’t I have enough budget to create a competition?” = Coin Budget
“How do I set a sales budget for this month?” = Target
“How do I set a KPI budget?” = Target
What if this doesn’t work?
I can’t see my budget
Ask your admin to confirm that:
You have been assigned a Coin Budget
You have the correct role or permissions
Rewards and Coins are enabled
Coin Budgets are enabled for the relevant feature
My budget looks wrong
Ask your admin to check your Coin Budget and recent budget transactions.
If possible, include:
Your name
The team or department affected
The feature you were trying to use
The amount of budget you expected to see
A screenshot of what you see
I can’t create a competition with coins as prizes
You may not have enough budget, or your role may not allow you to use budget coins for competitions.
Ask your admin to check your Coin Budget, competition permissions, and Rewards/Coins setup.
I can’t add coins to an endorsement
You may not have enough personal coins or budget, or your company may have disabled coins for endorsements.
Ask your admin to check whether endorsements can use coins, and whether those coins should come from your personal balance or Coin Budget.
