Why can't I load or change my YouTube celebration in SalesScreen?

If your YouTube celebration will not load, preview, or save, YouTube may be blocked by your network, VPN, or firewall: open SalesScreen on a network where YouTube is not blocked and try again, or send the YouTube link and start time to SalesScreen Support

Overview

A YouTube celebration is a short clip from a YouTube video that plays when a user is celebrated in SalesScreen. This article explains how YouTube celebrations work, what users and companies control, and what to do when a celebration will not load or save. It is for SalesScreen admins, managers, IT users and superusers who help users with celebrations.

Requirements

  • Access to the Celebrations page

  • The YouTube link you want to use

  • The point in the video where the celebration should start

  • A network where YouTube is not blocked

If you are on a company VPN or office network, YouTube may be blocked even if SalesScreen itself works.

When this matters

  • The celebration song will not load.

  • A user cannot change or save their celebration.

  • A user works on a VPN or company network that blocks YouTube.

  • The celebration plays shorter than expected.

  • A user cannot add a celebration for a specific activity type.

How it works

SalesScreen loads the celebration video from YouTube. If YouTube is blocked by your network, VPN, or firewall, the celebration may not load, preview, or save.

  • YouTube link: The video the user wants to use.

  • Start time: The point in the video where the celebration begins.

  • Duration: How long the celebration plays. The duration is set by your company. The default is 10 seconds. Some companies use 15 seconds for some celebrations.

  • Celebration types: A user can use a YouTube video, or the SalesScreen Animation + Soundtrack option, which appears further down in the celebration setup window. Use the SalesScreen Animation + Soundtrack option if you do not want to use a YouTube video.

  • Activity-type celebrations: Some existing celebrations are connected to a specific activity type. Existing activity-type celebrations can still be edited. New activity-type celebrations cannot be added.

Configuration or setup

  1. Open SalesScreen.

  2. Go to the Celebrations page.

  3. Open your existing celebration, or create a new one.

  4. Choose the YouTube celebration option.

  5. Paste the YouTube link.

  6. Set the start time. For example, to start 35 seconds into the video, use 0:35.

  7. Save the celebration.

If the video does not load, follow the steps under "What if this doesn't work?" below.

Expected result

  • The correct video and start time are saved on the celebration.

  • The celebration plays from the selected start time for the duration set by your company.

  • If needed, refresh the page and open the celebration again to check that the correct video and start time are saved.

What if this doesn't work?

  1. Open YouTube in the same browser and on the same network. If YouTube does not load, your network, VPN, or firewall is likely blocking it.

  2. Disconnect from your VPN, switch to a network where YouTube is allowed, or use a device that can access YouTube.

  3. Check that the link opens in your browser and the video starts correctly on YouTube.

  4. Check that the start time is within the length of the video.

  5. Save the celebration, refresh the page, and check that the correct video and start time are saved.

If the issue is still not resolved, contact SalesScreen Support. SalesScreen Support can help set the celebration for you. Include:

  • Company name

  • Your name and email in SalesScreen

  • The YouTube link you want to use

  • The start time, for example 0:35

  • Whether you use a VPN or company network that blocks YouTube

  • Browser used

  • Browsers already tried

  • A screenshot of the issue
