What are Scout Insights?

Insights are short performance summaries written by Scout. They show how a person, a team or a department is doing compared with the previous period, based on the key metrics and targets you have set up. Each insight ends with suggestions for what to do next.

  • User Insights: how a person is doing on their team's key metrics and targets, and how they compare with the team.

  • Team Insights: how the team is doing on its key metrics and targets, how recent competitions affected the results, who stood out and who may need support.

  • Department Insights: the same view at department level, for admins.

  • Endorsement summary: once a quarter, a summary of the endorsements a person has received.

Find Insights

  1. Open a profile page: a user, a team or a department.

  2. Click the Insights tab.

User Insights are on the profile page on web and in the mobile app. Team and department Insights are on web.

Who sees what

  • Everyone with a profile sees their own Insights.

  • Managers see the Insights of the people and teams they manage.

  • Company Admins and Account Owners see Insights for everyone they have access to. Department Insights are for admins.

  • Regular users don't see Insights about other people or teams.

When Insights are created

  • Weekly: at the start of your company's week, looking back at the week before.

  • Monthly: at the start of each month, looking back at the month before.

  • Quarterly: the endorsement summary, at the start of each quarter.

You also get a notification when a new insight is ready. Insights are created for periods that have data. If a team has no results in a period, there is no insight for it.

Choose what Insights compare

Insights are based on each team's key metrics. To change what they compare, change the key metrics for the team in Organization. The next insights use the new key metrics.

Turn a suggestion into action

Team Insights include suggestions from Scout, such as a competition, a mission, a battle or an endorsement.

  1. Open the Insights tab on the team profile.

  2. Click Create with Scout AI on a suggestion.

  3. Scout opens with the suggestion ready. Review the preview card and click Approve to create it.

  • Other managers who have looked at the same suggestion appear under Users already exploring this. That doesn't mean they created it, so check in SalesScreen before you do.

  • The chat for a suggestion is stored with the suggestion, not in your list of recent chats.

Read an insight in another language

Insights are shown in your language. If an insight was translated, click Show Original to read the original text, and Show Translation to switch back.

Turn Insights on or off

A Company Admin can switch Insights on or off for the whole company under Manage > Settings > Scout AI, with the toggle Enable Insights powered by Scout.

What if this doesn't work?

I can't see an Insights tab. Insights may be switched off for your company. Ask a Company Admin to check Manage > Settings > Scout AI. You also only see Insights for profiles you have access to.

There is no insight for the period. No data was registered for the team or person in that period, or the team has no key metrics. Add key metrics for the team in

Organization and check that results are being registered.

The insight compares the wrong metrics. Insights use the team's key metrics. Change them in Organization.

I created a suggestion but can't find the chat. The chat is stored with the suggestion in Insights. Open the Insights tab again.
