Custom target competition

A Custom target competition lets you compete on goals that are defined only for this competition (not the regular monthly targets). You can give each user or team its own goal and let them race to reach it.

Step 1 – Choose competition type

  1. Go to Competitions → + New competition.

  2. Under Browse, select Standard.

In Standard competitions you can use Custom Targets by turning on goals and entering the targets inside the competition.

Step 2 – Set time and main metric

  1. In Step 1: When is it?, set the start and end date/time for the competition.

  1. In Step 2: What would you like to compete on?, choose:

    • Single metric (most common for custom target competitions).

    • Select the metric you want to measure, for example Closed Won value per user.

This metric defines what counts towards each participant’s progress, while the goal values will be set per user/team in the next steps.

Step 3 – Choose participants

  1. In Step 3: Who is competing?, choose:

    • Users (user vs user), or

    • Teams (team vs team), or

    • Custom Teams.

  2. Select which users/teams should take part.

Step 4 – Turn on goals and add custom targets

  1. In Step 4: Would you like to set goals?, click Yes.

Place Image 5 again as reference (Yes selected in “Would you like to set goals?”).

  1. Click the 5 goals not set (or similar) link to open the Goals window.

  2. In the Goals window:

    • For each team or user shown, enter the goal value you want them to reach in this competition.

    • You can:

      • Type a value directly on each row, or

      • Select several rows and use Edit selected to apply the same goal to multiple teams/users.

  1. Click Save to close the Goals window.
These values are now the custom targets for this competition only.

Step 5 – Prizes, winners and advanced options

  1. Choose your prizes and winners (Step 5)

    • Click Select prizes.

    • Add one or more prizes, set thresholds (if needed), and decide how coins or rewards should be distributed.

  2. Advanced options (Step 6 – Set advanced options)
    Here you can configure:

    • Show Top X
Limit how many participants are visible on the leaderboard.

    • Privacy settings
      Choose what is shown:

      • Show everything

      • Show value only

      • Show progression only

    • Winner is declared when

      • First participant to reach the target, or

      • Best result at the end of the competition period.

    • Schedule winner announcement date

      • Optionally choose a different date than the end date to announce winners and award prizes.

    • What should happen if a tie occurs?

      • Manually select the winner, or

      • Randomly select the winner.

These settings work the same as for a regular Standard competition – the only difference is that you’ve defined custom goal values here.

Step 6 – Save, publish and notifications

  1. When you’re done, click Save as draft (to finish later) or Save and publish.

  1. If you choose Save and publish, the Publish settings dialog opens:

    • Playlists – choose TV playlists that should show this competition.

    • Feeds – choose feeds that should get posts about this competition.

    • Show competition events – toggle on to show important events on screens.

    • Optional email notifications:

      • When the competition starts

      • When it’s halfway

      • When it’s completed

For maximum effect, it’s recommended to:

  • Add the competition to relevant playlists and feeds, and

  • Enable emails so participants are notified at each major stage.

Once you click Save and publish in the Publish settings dialog, your Custom target competition will start at the scheduled time, with each participant racing toward their own custom goal.
