How do I create a Standard competition?

A Standard competition lets you choose what users compete on, who participates, and how winners are decided, all from the Competitions menu. Setup takes 4 main steps: pick the type, define the metric and timeframe, set participants and prizes, then publish

Prerequisites

  • Plan: Enterprise, Pro, or Scaled (Standard competition type is available on all plans)

  • Role: Company Admin or Competition Admin

Steps:

  1. Go to Competitions+ New competition.

  2. In the left menu under Browse, select Standard.

  3. Under Step 1: When is it?, set the start and end date and time.

  4. Under Step 2: What would you like to compete on?, choose one option:

    • Single metric – pick one metric (e.g., Closed Won value per user).

    • Multiple metrics (Points) – add up to 10 metrics and assign points or percentage weight to each.

    • Activity Flow – select a predefined Activity Flow and choose Percentage or Numeric completion.

    • Scorecard – base the competition on your overall scorecard result (requires Scorecard enabled).

  5. Under Step 3: Who is competing?, select Users, Teams, or Custom Teams.

  6. Under Step 4: Would you like to set goals?, click Yes to set individual or team goals, then define goal values in the dropdown.

  7. Under Step 5: Choose your prizes and winners, click Select prizes, add prizes, set thresholds, and decide how coins are distributed.

  8. Under Step 6: Set advanced options, configure Top X visibility, privacy settings, winner rule (first to target or best at end), tie-breaker, and optional winner announcement date.

  9. Click Save as draft to review later, or Save and publish to activate.

  10. In the Publish settings dialog, select playlists, feeds, events, and email notifications (start, halfway, completed), then click Save and publish.

What if this doesn't work?:

Problem: I can't see the + New competition button.
Solution: You need Company Admin or Competition Admin role. Ask your Company Admin to grant access under AdminUsers.
Problem: The competition type I want isn't available in the Browse menu.
Solution: Some types require Enterprise, Pro, or Scaled plans, or additional configuration (e.g., Scorecard must be enabled on your account). Contact your Customer Success Manager to confirm what's included in your plan.
Problem: My competition published but nothing shows on TVs or feeds.
Solution: Reopen the competition and check the Publish settings — playlists, feeds, and Show competition events must be enabled to appear on screens.
