How do I end an ongoing competition?

You can end a competition early to stop it before its scheduled end date and immediately declare the winner(s) based on the current results.

Company Admin or Competition Admin (anyone with permission to manage competitions)

Plan
All plans (as long as Gamification is enabled on your account)

Prerequisites
Available on: Any plan with Gamification enabled.
Access required: Company Admin or Competition Admin.

If you don’t want to crown any winners, delete the competition instead of ending it.

Step 1 – Open the Competitions page

  1. In the left‑hand sidebar, click Competitions.

  2. Make sure you are on the Active tab.

Step 2 – End the competition

  1. Find the competition you want to end in the Active list.

  2. On the far right of that row, click the three dots (…) menu.

  3. Click End.

  4. Confirm that you want to end the competition now.

Once you confirm, the competition will:

  • Stop immediately (no more data is counted)

  • Declare winner(s) based on the current standings

  • Move from Active to the Completed tab on the Competitions page

What if this doesn’t work?

I can’t see the competition I want to end
Check that you are on the Active tab (not Upcoming or Completed), and that any filters (date, type, owner) are cleared.

I don’t see the three dots (…) menu or the End option
You may not have permission to manage competitions. Ask a Company Admin or Competition Admin to end the competition, or have them adjust your access.

I ended the competition by mistake
A competition that has been ended can’t be “un‑ended”, but you can create a new competition with the same settings and a new time period.
