Endorsements

Tips to get started with endorsements

Written by Hanne Herseth

Overview
Endorsements are short, personal shout‑outs that recognize effort, attitude, and collaboration. Unlike competitions or achievements, they focus on appreciation and culture, and can be especially powerful for:

  • Highlighting people who go above and beyond

  • Encouraging someone who is having a rough week

  • Reinforcing the behaviors and values you care about

We recommend spending 10 minutes mid‑week to endorse a few colleagues who deserve some extra credit.

How can I endorse someone?

Everyone in SalesScreen can endorse other users.

  1. Click New in the left‑hand sidebar.

  2. Select Endorsement from the menu.

  1. In the Endorse a colleague window:

    • Choose Level:

      • User (endorse one person), or

      • Team (endorse an entire team).

    • Select a user (or team) from the dropdown.

    • Choose a Category (e.g., Superhero).

    • Optionally set Coins if your endorsement categories use coins.

    • Write a Comment – this is what will show in the feed and on screens.

    • Keep “Broadcast endorsement on screens and as a feed post” checked if you want it to appear on TV and in the feed.

  1. Click Endorse.

The endorsement will appear:

  • As a feed post (where others can like, comment, and react with GIFs), and

  • On screens if broadcasting is enabled.

How can I create endorsement categories? (admins)

Admins can define different categories to structure endorsements and, if desired, tie them to coins.

  1. Go to Manage → Settings → Endorsement.

  2. Add a new category or click an existing one to edit it.

  3. In the Update category window you can configure:

    • Category title – the name shown in the endorsement dropdown (e.g., Superhero).

    • Period cap – maximum number of endorsements allowed in this category per period

      • Example: Set 1 for “Employee of the Month” so it can only be used once each month.

    • Only visible to admins – restrict this category so only admins can use it.

    • Enable coins – turn this on if endorsements in this category should grant coins.

    • Coin minimum – the minimum number of coins that must be used when endorsing in this category (e.g., 2000 coins).

  1. Click Update to save the category.

Once configured:

  • Endorsers will see these categories in the Category dropdown when sending an endorsement.

  • If Enable coins and a Coin minimum are set, the endorsement form will enforce that minimum amount.

Using endorsements regularly is a simple habit that can significantly strengthen motivation, recognition, and team culture in your SalesScreen environment.
