How can I set default feed messages?

Customize the message that will be posted to the company feed when a user adds reports on a product of a specific type.

You can change the text that shows in the feed when someone adds a report for a certain activity type (for example Sales).
This helps you control how messages look for your whole company.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a Company Admin.

  • You must be able to open Manage → Activity Types.

Step 1 – Go to Activity Types

Open SalesScreen.
At the bottom left, click Manage.

In the menu that appears, click Activity Types.

Step 2 – Choose the activity type

You will now see a list of activity types (for example Sales, Send – Activity, etc.).
Click on the activity type you want to change, for example Sales.

Step 3 – Open the Textual presentation tab

At the top of the activity type, click the tab called Textual presentation.

Step 4 – Edit the feed message text

Under Feed, you see a text box.
This text controls how the message looks in the feed when someone adds this type of report.

  • You can type normal text (for example: “{%Team%} Sold {%Quantity%} To {%Customer name%} for a {%Value%}”).

  • You can click the buttons like Activity, Team, Quantity, Value, Customer name to add variables.

  • Variables are small codes that will be replaced with real data, such as the team name, number, customer name, or value.

You can see a Preview under the text box.
This shows how the message will look in the feed.

Step 5 – Save your changes

When you are happy with the text, click Save changes in the top right corner.

What happens next

From now on, when users add a report of this activity type:

  • The feed will show your new custom message.

  • The variables will be filled with the correct data (for example real team name, real value, real customer name).

If you want different messages for other activity types, repeat the same steps for each type.
