Why new forms?

The new create forms are a result of the Metric 2.0 release, which introduces combined formulas and formatting for metrics, simplifying their use across other platform elements. To accommodate this change, the create forms have been updated. Additionally, we've enhanced the functionality, offering a cleaner and more user-friendly experience. Admins can now benefit from real-time previews, making understanding what they are creating easier.

Widgets (Web) Create Form

Q: How has the existing widget creation process changed?

The widget creation process has been streamlined from five different pages to a single unified page. The workflow has also changed—now, you start by selecting a metric, activity flow, or achievement instead of the previous order.

There are two main categories for creating widgets, each with its own subcategories:

Categories

What does it do?

Data

Single Metric

Used to measure a specific metric. This is the default and most common option when creating a widget.

Data

Activity Flow

Visualizes several metrics in one view or displays a hit rate.

Gamification

Achievements

Sets up leaderboards based on who has earned a specific achievement the most times.

Gamification

XP & Levels

Displays a leaderboard of XP and levels.

For other types of widgets, the steps are similar but with fewer options, depending on what type of data you are working with (metrics, achievements, etc.).
