What has changed?
We're redesigning dashboard filters to be more intuitive and flexible, eliminating the need for multiple dashboards per team.
Simplified dashboard filtering – Filters at the dashboard level clearly dictate what widgets display.
Improved default widget filtering – Widgets will have clearer behavior before any filters are applied.
Better visibility of widget filters – Users will easily see what data a widget is showing.
Impact
✅ Easier to use, reducing confusion for both users and admins.
✅ More flexibility, minimizing the need for multiple dashboards.
✅ Improved transparency on what data is being filtered.
How does this update help?
Single Dashboard for Managers
No more one-dashboard-per-team setup. With filters now easier and faster to use, admins and managers can choose the teams or departments they care about, and those filters will stay applied until removed—no need to reset each time.
Using the Access-based dynamic filter, dashboards automatically show the data each user is allowed to see. Managers can still apply additional filters to focus on specific teams or metrics.
My Dashboard
Now you can view more than just your own data. Use the filter at the top to display results for specific users, teams, or groups. Think of dashboards as different layouts, not separate dashboards per filter.
Display data for different activities
You can now see a clear breakdown of activities for any team—not just your own. No need for custom widget filters to compare performance or engagement.
Widgets can show your personal data across teams
Dashboards configured to show your own data now include results from all teams you’re part of, not just your current one.

Widget Filter Information
The widgets will now inform the user what the widget is showing in regards to the filters (teams, users, etc.) The main reason for doing this is to remove any confusion about how the widget is configured.
This also takes into account the dynamic filters, meaning that it can change depending on the user that is viewing the dashboard.
When the dashboard filter at the top is used it also affects each widget on the dashboard.
Filters
We have made several improvements to the dashboard filter (this is the filter that you use at the top of the dashboard, not the widget itself):
You can access the filter at the top of the dashboard page, no need to go into the sub-menu to access!
When you set a filter on the dashboards ALL widgets on the dashboard will be affected. This is to reduce confusion and make it more user friendly.
As before, filters on the dashboard is only available if its enabled on the dashboard itself. However, we have now taken steps to make sure that the options (teams, departments, etc.) fully complies with the privacy settings. Meaning that you will only be able to filter on teams, users, that you have access to and are allowed to view. This goes for normal users as well as admins and managers.
When you set a filter on a dashboard (like “Team Sales”), that filter is now saved locally on your computer.
This means:If you reload or navigate away, your filter stays applied.
The same filter will carry over to other dashboards that support filtering.
If a dashboard doesn’t use filters, it simply shows default data.
To clear your filter and return to default, just click “X” next to the filter.
NEW! You can now filter on Roles for the whole dashboard.
Widget Filters
Maybe the biggest change with this update is that we have removed the “Show current user’s data by default” switch on the dashboard (the SalesScreen team won't miss it! 🤣). This is now replaced with the similar approach that we use on mobile widgets.
What has changed in the widget form?
The “View By” option has been removed for “Number widgets”. This was very confusing and is no longer needed. It used to impact how the widget was filtering data by default
Dynamic filters have replaced “Filter Display Data”
Dynamic Filter = No
No change here, you'll just set the filter manually.
Dynamic Filter = Yes
This has replaced “Show current user’s data by default” on the dashboard. You have the following options to select from:
These filters should be fairly straight forward, but lets review Access-based filtering:
Access-based will only show data based on what the user viewing the dashboard has access to.
While this is mainly aimed for manager dashboards, but it can also be used by normal users. Depending on what they are allowed to see, this can vary from only seeing they own numbers to seeing all data in the company
What a user, admin or manager can access is based on the privacy settings (Manage → Settings → Privacy). The easier way to think about it is to say if the user can access the profile page of another user, they will see their numbers in the dashboard.
Privacy options:
Users
Only themself
The widget will only show the current users own data.
Do not filter on the users current team, only filter on the user
User in their team
The widget will filter on the team of the user.
Users in their department
Same as for teams
All users
Shows all data, no filters
Admins and managers
Similar to users, manager access and admin access will control what you see instead. This takes precedence over the user rules
FAQ
Will it impact existing dashboards?
No, not unless you enable the “Use new filters” on the dashboard
Can I filter on team and users at the same time?
No, you can only filter on one entity at the same time (Team or Department or Users).
To give an example on how you can do it if you want to filter on a specific team, but remove one user:
Select the team you want to filter on
Then select users in the tab
The users for the team you selected in 1 are now preselected, you can remove one or several user(or add additional users) if you want
What decides who I can filter on in a dashboard?
This is based on the privacy settings on the page Manage → Settings → Privacy. It follows the data elements setting
What is the difference between the dashboard filter and the “View as user” functionality?
The dashboard filter will set all the widgets to show the same data, regardless of the user that is viewing the dashboard
“View as user” mimics the user that is viewing the dashboard. Meaning that widgets that are configured to use dynamic filtering will follow the user that you have selected
This should be the same as login in as that user and going to the dashboard
What will happen to the activity filter on the dashboard?
This will no longer be supported.
