How do I get started with Achievements?

Achievements celebrate milestones automatically when someone in your company reaches them. This article explains what Achievements are, where to find them, and what you can do depending on your role.

🙋 This article is for: Regular Users, managers, Company Admins and Achievement Administrators

Available on: All plans. On Essentials, you can have up to 10 active Goal and High-score achievements. On Scale, Pro and Enterprise, the limit is 60.

What is Achievements?

An achievement is a milestone that unlocks when a user, team or the whole company reaches it, for example hitting a target or being the top performer of the week.

Your company’s admins decide which achievements exist, what it takes to unlock them and how the moment is announced. Achievements give people recognition for consistent performance, not only for winning a single competition.

If your company has turned on Achievements, you find them under Gamification in the left-hand menu.

When should I use Achievements?

  • You want to recognise people automatically when they hit a goal, without anyone having to remember to do it.

  • You want to reward consistency, for example reaching a weekly target several weeks in a row.

  • You want to mark a new record or a top result in a period.

Achievements are not competitions with a set start and end date. For that, see How do I create a competition in SalesScreen.

See achievement activity in your company

  1. In the left-hand menu, under Gamification, click Achievements.

  2. Use the filter at the top to choose whose achievements you see.

  3. Look through the sections:

    • Highlights: the biggest recent wins, such as long streaks and rare unlocks.

    • Recent Unlocks: recent unlocks for each achievement. Click Show all unlocks to see more.

    • Active Streaks: streaks that are still going. Click Show all streaks to see more.

  4. Click any achievement to see its details in a side panel.

Check your own progress

Click My Progress to see how many different achievements you have unlocked at least once. The side panel lists every achievement you can unlock, with the quickest ones to earn first.

You can find My Progress on Home and on your profile.

Create your first achievement (admins)

Only Company Admins and Achievement Administrators can create achievements. There are three types:

  • Goal: unlocks when someone reaches a goal, for example a target, a number of activities or a time window.

  • High-score: Achievements earned by surpassing the highest sales value, which then becomes the new benchmark for others to beat. The high-score value moves as salespeople outperform each other. Example: "Highest sales value in a month"

  • Top Performer: unlocks for the best performers in a period, for example the number one in the company this week.

  1. Go to the Achievements page.

  2. Click Manage Achievements in the top right. A side panel opens with your achievements and how many active achievements you have of your plan’s limit.

  3. Click Create new.

  4. Choose a ready-made achievement under Suggestions, or choose Goal, High-score or Top Performer to set one up yourself.

  5. Follow the remaining steps, from choosing a suggestion to activating the achievement

How rare is an achievement?

Achievements can be labelled Uncommon, Rare or Legendary. SalesScreen calculates the label automatically from unlock data in your company. Common achievements show no label on purpose.

What is a streak?

You get a streak when you unlock the same achievement in two periods in a row. Not all achievements support streaks. If no one is on a streak, the Active Streaks section is empty. For details, see How do Achievement Streaks work in SalesScreen?.

Who can use Achievements?

  • Regular Users: see the Achievements page, unlock achievements and check their own progress.

  • Managers: the same as Regular Users, plus a filter to see only the people they manage. Managers cannot create or edit achievements.

  • Company Admins and Achievement Administrators: create, edit, turn on or off, and assign achievements.

What users can see of other people’s achievements depends on your company’s privacy settings.

How do I know it worked?

When someone unlocks an achievement, they receive the badge for it, and the unlock appears under Recent Unlocks on the Achievements page. If your company uses Coins, the achievement can also give Coins. Depending on how the admin has set up the achievement, it can also be announced on Home and on TV screens.

Tips

  • Start with one of the Suggestions in Create achievement instead of setting one up from scratch.

  • Use repeating achievements (daily, weekly, monthly) to reward consistency through streaks.

What if this doesn’t work?

I can’t find Achievements in the menu

Achievements may not be turned on for your company. Ask an admin in your company.

I can’t see the Manage Achievements button

Only Company Admins and Achievement Administrators can manage achievements. Ask an admin in your company to give you the Achievement Administrator role, or to make the change for you.

I can’t create a new achievement

You may have reached your plan’s limit for active Goal and High-score achievements. You can see how many you have at the top of Manage Achievements. Disable an achievement you no longer use to make room for a new one. Disabled achievements and Top Performer achievements do not count toward the limit. For steps, see “How can I enable or disable an Achievement in SalesScreen?”.

I can’t see other people’s achievements

Your company may have privacy settings that limit what you can see. Ask an admin in your company.

An achievement doesn’t unlock

See “How do Achievements work in SalesScreen?” for how conditions and time windows affect unlocks.
