The Settings manager, available from the left side menu by choosing Manage > Settings, offers the ability to configure some of the most basic settings for your organization. You likely won't need to change these much, but it's good to know what your options are if you do!

There are two Settings pages available in SalesScreen Essentials-- Main > General and Company > Date Settings. We'll take a closer look at both right now.

General Settings

On the general settings page, you can:

  • Change your Company Name

  • Choose your Standard language from a dropdown

  • Choose your Time Zone from a dropdown

  • Toggle Announce Employee Birthdays on or off (for use in the social feed and screens)

  • Toggle Announce New Users on or off (for use in the social feed and screens)

  • Toggle Announce Work Anniversaries on or off (for use in the social feed and screens)

  • Upload a Company Logo from your computer -- this will show in the upper left corner of the application.

Date Settings

The Date Settings page has a few more components to it as you scroll down, so we'll look at each one and its uses in order:

Configure period picker options

This section is for selecting what timeframes will be available to choose for viewing data in other parts of SalesScreen, such as the Dashboard or Reports sections. Select the ones that you think will be most useful to you. Too many choices in the period picker dropdown can be more confusing than helpful to most users, so be strategic-- and remember, if you select "Custom" as one of your choices, users will be able to select the exact date range they need in any case.

Useful Notes

  • Checking or unchecking the box on a top category name will automatically check or uncheck all the selections in the category below it.

  • The Fiscal quarter and Fiscal year categories are only applicable if you have a custom Fiscal year (see below for more info). You will be able to check them without this, but if you do not have Fiscal year switched on, they will be redundant for you.

  • Remember to use the Save Changes button at the bottom of the section after making any updates!

Working days

This section allows you to select the days that your company should be considered active for the purposes of SalesScreen's calculations. For example, if you set your working days as Monday through Friday, SalesScreen will not set any activity targets for Saturdays and Sundays, or count lack of activity on those days as "breaking a streak" when looking at Achievement badges.

The Start of week dropdown controls what day should be considered the beginning of a new week for the purposes of calculating targets and other data.

Useful Notes

  • When any changes are made in this section, two options will appear at the bottom of the page-- Cancel and Save company settings. You will need to make sure to scroll down and click Save company settings before leaving the page if you want to keep your changes.

Fiscal year

If your organization's fiscal year does not run from January to December, you can toggle the Fiscal year switch to reveal a dropdown that will let you select which month should be the Start of year. You can then display data by your Fiscal year or Fiscal quarter in the Dashboard or Reports sections of you have included these options in your configuration-- See Configure period picker options above for more details.

Useful Notes

  • When any changes are made in this section, two options will appear at the bottom of the page-- Cancel and Save company settings. You will need to make sure to scroll down and click Save company settings before leaving the page if you want to keep your changes.

Public holidays

Setting public holidays allows you to exclude these days from your work calendar for the purposes of calculating targets, achievement streaks, and similar data. This is also the section where you can set your current Year in the bottom dropdown.

To set a public holiday, you can either Add custom holiday or select from Show suggested holidays. You can add as many as you like by either method.

Add custom holiday

If you choose Add custom holiday, a popup will appear at the center of your screen. Simply choose the desired Date of your holiday, type in a brief Description, and hit Save to add your holiday.

Your holiday will appear as an entry below the Year dropdown. You can click on it to delete.

Show suggested holidays

If you choose Show suggested holidays, a list of common legal holidays will appear, based on the country you select in the dropdown at the top. Click on these to select them, and they will move to your public holidays list on the left side. If you change your mind about a holiday, clicking on it in the left list will send it back to the suggestions.

Useful Notes

  • Whether you are adding suggested or custom holidays, two options will appear at the bottom of the page-- Cancel and Save company settings. You will need to make sure to scroll down and click Save company settings before leaving the page if you want to keep your holidays.
