Role
Company Admins and Screen Admins can activate SalesScreen on a TV or screen.
Plan
Available on all plans.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:
Company Admin or Screen Admin access
Access to SalesScreen on a computer
A TV or screen running the SalesScreen TV app, or a browser opened to tv.salesscreen.com
A screen already created in SalesScreen
A playlist connected to the screen, if you want content to show immediately after activation
We recommend using a dedicated streaming device, such as Google TV or Chromecast with Google TV, for the most reliable experience. Smart TV browsers are not recommended, because browser support can vary between TV models.
Step-by-step: Activate SalesScreen on a TV or screen
Step 1 – Open the SalesScreen TV app
On your TV or streaming device, open the SalesScreen TV app.
If you are using a browser, open:
tv.salesscreen.com
A 4-digit activation code will appear on the TV.
The code is valid for 1 hour.
Note: If you do not see a QR code or activation code, the TV app may need to be updated before you continue.
Step 2 – Open Screens in SalesScreen
On your computer, log in to SalesScreen.
In the left-hand menu, click Screens.
This opens the overview of all TV screens in your company.
Step 3 – Select the screen you want to connect
Step 4 – Connect the screen
In the side panel, click Connect this screen.
If you only see a red Disconnect this screen button, the screen is already connected to another TV client.
Click Disconnect this screen first, then click Connect this screen again.
Step 5 – Enter the activation code
Look at the 4-digit code shown on the TV.
Enter the code in SalesScreen.
Click Activate.
Step 6 – Confirm that the TV is working
The TV should now start showing the slideshow for the screen you selected.
If nothing appears, the screen may not have any playlists connected.
Streaming device vs Smart TV browser – what’s the difference?
SalesScreen can be displayed on a TV or large screen in two main ways:
Streaming device app = recommended method. Use the SalesScreen TV app on a dedicated device, such as Google TV or Chromecast with Google TV.
Smart TV browser = alternative method. Open tv.salesscreen.com in the TV browser, but this is not recommended because Smart TV browsers can be unreliable.
For the best experience, use a dedicated streaming device.
What if this doesn’t work?
I don’t see an activation code on the TV
Make sure the SalesScreen TV app is open.
If you still do not see a code, update the TV app to the latest version and try again.
If you are using a Smart TV browser, try a dedicated streaming device instead.
The activation code does not work
The code may have been entered incorrectly, or it may have expired.
The code is valid for 1 hour.
To fix it:
Check the 4-digit code on the TV again.
Enter it exactly as shown.
If it still fails, restart the device running the SalesScreen TV app.
Open the app again.
Use the new code shown on the TV.
Try activating the screen again.
I see “Could not connect to the screen”
This usually means the code was entered incorrectly or has expired.
To fix it:
Re-enter the 4-digit code exactly as shown on the TV.
If the issue continues, restart the streaming device or TV app.
Open the app again and use the new code.
Try connecting the screen again.
I only see “Disconnect this screen”
This means the screen is already connected to another TV client.
To connect it to this TV:
Click Disconnect this screen.
Click Connect this screen.
Enter the new 4-digit activation code from the TV.
Click Activate.
The TV is connected, but no slides are showing
The TV may be connected to a screen that has no playlist attached.
To fix it:
In SalesScreen, go to Manage → Screens → Playlists.
Find the correct screen.
Connect the playlist you want to show.
Wait a short while for the TV to update.
I see “You don’t have any slides connected”
This means the TV is connected, but the selected screen does not have any content.
To fix it:
Go to Manage → Screens → Playlists.
Find the playlist you want to use.
Connect the playlist to the correct screen.
The TV should start showing slides after a short while.
The Smart TV browser does not work reliably
Smart TV browsers are not recommended for SalesScreen.
Use a dedicated streaming device, such as Google TV or Chromecast with Google TV, for a more stable experience.
