Essentials, Scale, Pro and Enterprise
Prerequisites
A Google account (preferably a company account, fully verified)
A Google TV device (Chromecast with Google TV is recommended) or a TV with Google TV built‑in
A TV to plug the device into
At least one screen and playlist set up in SalesScreen
Step 1 – Configure the Chromecast / Google TV
Connect the Google TV device to your TV via HDMI and plug in the power.
Turn on the TV and follow the setup wizard:
Select language.
Connect to Wi‑Fi.
Sign in with your Google account (ideally a company account).
Complete all verification steps for the Google account to avoid it being flagged if you set up multiple devices.
We recommend not linking the Chromecast remote to the TV for power/volume; this can sometimes cause issues.
Step 2 – Install the SalesScreen TV app
On Google TV, go to the Apps tab.
Search for “SalesScreen TV”.
Install the SalesScreen TV app.
Open the app and accept the prompt that allows it to run over other apps (required for full‑screen slideshows).
A QR code and four‑digit code are shown on the TV – you’ll use this to connect the device to a screen in SalesScreen.
Step 3 – Connect the app to a new screen
You can connect via mobile (QR) or web.
From mobile (recommended)
Scan the QR code on the TV with your phone’s camera or the SalesScreen mobile app.
In the Connect screen view:
Enter the four‑digit code shown on the TV.
Set a name for the screen.
Select one or more playlists.
Tap Connect.
The TV will start showing slides from the chosen playlists.
Step 4 – Connect to an existing screen
If you already have a screen configured in SalesScreen:
In the Connect screen flow, choose Select existing screen.
You’ll see all screens with status Offline or New.
Screens with status Connected are hidden so you don’t accidentally interrupt running slideshows.
Select the screen you want and complete the connection.
The TV will now mirror that existing screen’s playlists.
Recommended devices
We recommend a regular HD Chromecast with Google TV.
In testing, the more expensive 4K version has shown some performance issues; the standard HD device is currently the safest choice.
TVs from Sony and Philips with Google TV built‑in can install SalesScreen TV like any other app.
Using the Google TV app menu
While the slideshow is running, press Up on the Chromecast remote to open the context menu. Here you can:
See the screen name (administration name)
See the app version
Refresh the screen
Close the SalesScreen TV app
Disconnect the screen (returns to the four‑digit code so you can connect a different screen)
What if this doesn’t work?
I don’t see the SalesScreen TV app in Google TV
Make sure you’re on the Apps tab and searching for “SalesScreen TV”.
Confirm the device is signed into a valid Google account with Play Store access.
The four‑digit code won’t connect
Double‑check the code and try again.
If it fails, close and reopen the SalesScreen TV app to get a new code, then retry.
The TV doesn’t show the correct playlists
In SalesScreen, verify that the screen is linked to the right playlists and that those playlists contain slides.
If you used Select existing screen, confirm you picked the correct screen name.
The device goes to sleep or shows a screensaver
On Google TV, adjust power / sleep / screensaver settings so the device stays on during working hours.
