How do I connect SalesScreen to Claude or ChatGPT?

Connect the SalesScreen MCP so your AI assistant can read your performance data and take actions in SalesScreen for you.

What is the SalesScreen MCP?

The SalesScreen MCP connects your AI assistant to your SalesScreen account. Once it's connected, you can ask Claude or ChatGPT to do the same things you'd ask Scout, without opening SalesScreen:

  • Check performance — leaderboards, targets and trends for people, teams, departments or the whole company.

  • Set things up — competitions, battles, missions, endorsements, feed posts, boards and metrics.

  • Combine it with your other tools — pull your leaderboard into a slide deck, or use your calendar or HR system alongside your SalesScreen data.

Your assistant only sees what you can already see in SalesScreen, because it signs in as you. There's no extra cost.

What you need before you start

  • A SalesScreen login with the Company Admin or Manager role.

  • Claude: a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan.

  • ChatGPT: a Business, Enterprise or Edu plan to create things in SalesScreen. On ChatGPT Pro, you can read your data but not create anything.

Connect SalesScreen to Claude

On Claude Pro or Max:

  1. In Claude, click Customize and go to Connectors.

  2. Click Add custom connector.

  3. Name it SalesScreen and paste this URL: https://mcp.salesscreen.com/mcp

  4. Click Add, then Connect, and sign in with your SalesScreen login.

  5. Start a new chat and try: "What can the SalesScreen connector do?"

On Claude Team or Enterprise: your Claude organisation owner adds the connector once, under Admin settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. After that, each person finds SalesScreen in their own Connectors list, clicks Connect and signs in with their SalesScreen login.

Connect SalesScreen to ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.

  2. Go back to Apps & Connectors and click Create.

  3. Name it SalesScreen and paste this URL as the server URL: https://mcp.salesscreen.com/mcp

  4. Click Advanced OAuth settings, and in the field Client ID, fill in mcp-connector

  5. Save, then sign in with your SalesScreen login.

  6. Start a new chat, turn on the SalesScreen connector and try: "Show me this week's leaderboard."

Disconnect SalesScreen

You can remove access at any time. In Claude or ChatGPT, open Connectors, find SalesScreen and click Disconnect or Remove. Your assistant can no longer see your SalesScreen data after that.

Turn off MCP connections for your company
Company Admins can stop anyone in the company from connecting SalesScreen to an AI assistant.

  1. Go to Manage → Settings → Scout AI, or open https://app.salesscreen.com/#/settings/scout

  2. Switch off Allow MCP connections.

What if this doesn't work?

The sign-in fails or I get an access error: the SalesScreen MCP is only for Company Admins and Managers on Scale, Pro or Enterprise. Ask your SalesScreen admin to check your role and your company's plan.

I'm an Admin or Manager on the right plan, but sign-in still fails: your Company Admin may have switched off Allow MCP connections under Manage → Settings → Scout AI.

ChatGPT can read my data but won't create anything: creating things needs ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu. On other ChatGPT plans, the connector is read-only. Claude Pro and up can do both.

I can't find Developer mode or Add custom connector: on company plans (ChatGPT Business or Enterprise, Claude Team or Enterprise), only your AI workspace admin can turn these on. Send them this article and ask them to add SalesScreen for your organisation.
